We have a winner!
Many thanks to everyone who voted for the winning logo of my new debate project. This has been many years in the making — the product of my frustration with our civil discourse and my crusade against cynicism. I simply refuse to believe that the American people are too stubborn or stupid to do better than we’re doing. How can we expect anyone to do better if they’re never given the tools and shown how to use them? That’s what my new project is all about, and your help is invaluable.
It was so fascinating to see you think through my prototype logos! Your choice was clear, but my goodness, was it close.
I also made a word cloud of your reactions to your chosen design. A clear theme emerged, and I’m glad we see this the same way.
That’s exactly what I was going for.
I’ve been hard at work every single day piecing this thing together: a one-man operation that I hope to grow dramatically in response to the year ahead. The 2026 midterms feel like a real turning point: not only because of America’s political situation and affordability issues, but because the world will be watching our celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. We will speak volumes, to democracies everywhere and also to ourselves, about who we are and where we’re going. I demand to have my say. So should you, and I’d like to help.
Take a look at the video for your first look at the logo and the name of my debate project. Again, thanks for your help and support — more to come!
BTW, the logo isn’t filling the frame of the video because, for livestreaming purposes, I plan to stream horizontally as well as vertically (for mobile devices). That means certain design elements need to fit in the center of the frame, covering space that both screen orientations can see clearly. Nowadays it’s pretty easy to “multistream” and, since young adults are more likely to watch on mobile devices, it’s a no-brainer. Watch wherever you like — I hope you like what you see, starting in 2026!
